1979 PONTIAC TRANS AM

Hi Rod,

I'm happy to hear the TA is doing well and winning trophies.

We use only 10-40, and I think it's wolfs head, but use any that you have a history with, I also like castrol, we use wix filters, and if possible take it to a place that knows old cars, not quickie lube.

Do not use synthetic oil in any old car. The problem seems to be it will cause leaks when no leaks were present before use.

Thanks for the referrals, I have a nice 1978 Model on the site, it's the last one I want to sell.

That's good new, it got there quick, and I thank you for the kind words and compliments.

I have no plans to alter this car; rather, I plan to continue the faithful attention in preserving its originality as you and others so dutifully guaranteed.

1951 FORD F-1 PICK UP TRUCK

My husband and I were pleased with every contact that we had with Bob and Ultra Auto. From the minute my husband saw the 51' Ford F1 he loved it. Bob took care of everything quickly and professionally and even met with us on a Sunday to work out the deal ( even having to slip out of his granddaughters first birthday party). The truck was exactly as Bob described and we couldn't be happier. Thank you so much for everything! We would highly recommend purchasing a vehicle from Bob. You will not be disappointed.

Hi Bob. Just wanted to let you know that the truck was delivered today and that I could not be happier with it. Absolutely beautiful. It came off the ramp truck, I put the plates on, and ended up cruising it around for about three hours straight feeling like a teenager just getting my license. I have to admit that buying a vehicle online sight unseen made a little nervous but I am happy to say that everything went perfectly. Your recommendations for financing and shipping both worked out great. All necessary documents were sent in a timely manner, and the truck is everything you described it to be and more. I can't thank you enough for your help and professionalism. It was really a pleasure doing business with you!
Thank you!

Just a quick note to say that it was a pleasure working with you on the purchase of our 66 Fairlane 500XL Convertible. You relieved my concerns about making a major purchase from the other side of the USA by demonstrating thorough communications and a willingness to work with me on any and all concerns.
The car showed up ahead of schedule in very nice condition. Cosmetically, I got what you promised. When the convertible top didn't operate on arrival, you worked with me to have this repaired and assist with the expense.
Thank you for backing your product and ensuring satisfaction on my end. You have done a lot to cement spousal trust at our house!

Look no further for quality muscle or antique cars! I have been doing business with cars for over 35 years and Ultra Automotive is now my go to place. It was an absolute pleasure receiving a vehicle, with only pictures and description, in the condition as stated, no surprises. As well, small as it seems, it came with a new battery! This is the first time that I've used an arrangement like this but felt it was the best route given the unique nature of the vehicle and Bob's many years of networking and marketing. The truck sold in 2 months- quicker than either of us expected. Bob dealt with all aspects of the customer relationship for the sale. All I needed to do was hand him the keys and sign the paperwork. Bill,
Here is the info for the oil, belts, and mufflers.
belts go to http://www.seatbelts.net/distributors.php JC whitney and others sell the same belt that's in the Chevelle.
Use red lap belt with the polished buckle. Match them to the ones in front.,

The oil I use is Valvoline 20-50 VR1 Racing oil, it has the additives.
here is a pic of the bottle

Mufflers I think you may like is Dynomax for a less noisy ride. If you chose any turbo mufflers it will probably work fine, maybe ask
the local exhaust place for their recommendation from past experience.

Thanks, Bob

Your best bet is to use a non detergent oil probably 30 or 40 weight since your climate is hot most of the year, do not use detergent oil.

Thanks for the kind words, I am sure you will get many years of service from the Roadmaster.

Kim, Thanks for the kind words and compliment. Bob

We had a very nice experience with Ultra Automotive. We bought a beautiful, clean 2008 Lincoln Signature Towncar from them. Bob was very professional, patient and helpful. Because of the weather, it took some time to coordinate all of our schedules, but he was very flexible and was willing to do what he had to in order to accommodate us. Even after we took possession of the vehicle, we had trouble registering it because of Maryland's strict rules. Bob was there to help us with notarizing the Bill of Sale and mailing it to us. We would definitely do business with this company again and recommend them to our friends and business associates.

Jerry,
Thanks for the kind words and comments on the 1957 Ford I sold you.
I enjoyed owning it for several years, and it's gone to a good home.
Your wife is a lovely lady, came out with the flash light to help, it's nice to work with folks like you.
I wish I had got time at the show to meet you, but I felt a little ill that day, and when the rain came in I decided to call it quits and head home.
Maybe I can look you up in Jan for the show, assuming you have the same spot.

Your pictures of the 57 and description seemed to be very good. I also read some of the comments made by your customers and I felt safe with my decision. As you remember I was at the car show at Moultrie, Ga. when you brought the car to my house. My wife called to tell me that the car was here and that you had been very nice to put the car in the carport. While I know he wanted to sell a car, it was also clear he wanted me to get what I was looking for and assured there were no misunderstandings about the condition of the vehicle. Yes, Jared seemed very knowledgeable but understandibly was a little hurried to finish his deliveries due to his adventure the night before. Luckily all the cars (especially the Galaxie) survived a collision between his truck and an elk on Sunday. The damage was pretty substantial (headlight assembly was hanging by a thread, and must have looked like a strobe light to oncoming traffic), but not enough to stop his run! On another note, if you have any good sources for old Ford parts, please send some info along if you get a chance. Thanks.

RV, Thanks for asking, I bought the old truck but it was a long trip back home, no rooms available due to the storms, all the hotels were full of utility trucks, so I just gave up, drove back to Ohio and slept in the back seat. I think I'm too old to be doing that.
As for the window, I did not know it was broken, and will check with Greg, I'm with you, the surf stickers would be better on a older wagon.
Maybe you can put a different sticker in place and it will work out. It's flat glass, it may be easy to just have a new one made, but getting a gasket may be a problem.
There is a guy on ebay i buy from, he has all kind of NHRA and other performance items.
Here is his user name true-green
The oil was just changed a month ago, It should clear out with some miles. It ran great before it was loaded.
Thanks, and I'm glad it worked out. It will look great with vintage plates.

I was taking the surfing stickers off the car, which surfing isn't really my thing, and the right side rear door glass was broken under one of the stickers. I was wondering if you or Greg knew what vehicle this glass was out of or if it was cut for the window? I have black tape in place to hold the pieces in place until I can replace the window. I was looking at some other pictures of 2 door wagons and they were done removing the post behind the rear doors and using a rather large piece of glass. It may be something I consider down the road but that's a lot of glass. Hopefully I can get to the DMV this week and get everything switched over so I can drive it. I have a pair of vintage 67 Virginia plates I'm going to run on it. I'm very happy with it and can't wait to drive it down the road. It's still running a little rough but I figure it just needs to be driven a ways to clear it out. They don't like not being driven:-)

We worked with Ultraman twice on cars. Actually, it was the same car. The first time the deal didn't work out (no fault to Bob). It was a disappointment to my husband for sure. Things changed and some months later I contacted Bob to see if the car was still available and made hubby a happy man. Purchased a 1960 Ford Fair-lane and the transaction went smooth. Bob hooked us up with delivery and the car was in our driveway in no time. Upon delivery, there were a few issues with the car and Bob worked with us to make things right. We even purchased another item the following year. Thanks Bob.

THANKS FOR CHECKING IN AND YOUR COMMENTS ON THE 61 BUBBLETOP.

CAN I USE YOUR COMMENTS ON MY TESTIMONIALS SECTION? NO PRIVATE INFO WILL BE SHOWN.

IF YOU WISH TO SEND A OFFER ON THE R CODE OR THE BLACK CHEV MAYBE WE CAN WORK OUT A DEAL.
I NOW REMEMBER YOU LIKED THE BURGUNDY MODEL, NOT THE BLACK TRIBUTE.
THE 52 CHEV IS A SWEET CAR, NO RUST EVER, NOT DETAILED UNDERNEATH, JUST ONE QUALITY REPAINT, AND ORIGINAL TRIM.
THE PAINT LOOKS LIKE ORIGINAL DUE TO NO CLEAR COAT, PAINTED WITH SINGLE STAGE URETHANE.
THANKS, BOB ELLIOTT

JOHN, IT'S GOOD TO HEAR YOU ARE ENJOYING THE MACH 1.
I THINK IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES AFTER THE SHOW SEASONS END.
WHEN WE DISCUSSED THE PROBLEMS UPON PURCHASE, I FELT THEY WERE MINOR THINGS, AND IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR ON TRACK TO DEAL WITH THEM.
WOW, IT'S A ONE OF ONE BUILT!! THE VALUE OF THAT TYPE OF MUSTANG WILL ALWAYS DO WELL. PLUS GREAT COLORS AND OPTIONS.
IT'S GOOD TO HAVE FOLKS APPRECIATE YOUR MUSTANG, I LIKE TO SHARE THEM ALSO.
I DON'T KNOW ANY MORE ABOUT HISTORY THAN WE DISCUSSED WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT, I REMEMBER IT HAD SAT IN DRY STORAGE AFTER MERSHONS SOLD IT, PRIOR TO THAT I'M AT A LOSS.
I DO HAVE SOME INFO FROM THE LAST OWNER, MAYBE I CAN EMAIL HIM AND GET MORE INFO. I'M HAPPY TO HELP.
THANKS, AND I WILL ADD YOU TO THE TESTIMONIALS LIST ON MY WEB SITE.

I've attached a couple of photos from the first show held at a local Ford dealer. The most recent show was last weekend at a Mustang Cruise in. I haven't got the pictures for that one yet, but if you're interested, I'll send them along.
>
> The car is running well but does drip oil (mostly) so I'm keeping an eye on the levels until I can have that taken care of. I haven't yet adjusted the engine to eliminate the tapping noise- probably in the spring. The backup switch is missing from under the car at the transmission. I think a '68 switch will work; I haven't seen any switches specifically for a '69 4-speed. Some of the cabin electrical systems aren't connected, primarily the courtesy lights (doors, under dash and rear sail panels). It doesn't appear that the dash clock is hooked up all the way, so I don't know if it's not working or not connected. Stuff to do in the off season! Since the car was originally ordered with an AM/8-Track radio, I've been looking to obtain one. E-Bay has them going for $500 -$900! I don't need one that much, but I'm not selling my 8-tracks just yet! I had a personalized Marti Report run on the car and it winds down to being the only one built as ordered.
> Anyway, I'd like to ask your help in getting some history of the car. I have folks asking me about it at the shows and cruise-ins and I don't have a lot to tell them. I recall that the title from the owner before you was from Mershon's. Is it possible for you to check with the person that traded it in to you about the history while he had it? I'd like to find out how many owners it had, who did the restoration and when, etc. I'd appreciate anything you might be able to come up with.

hello bob, sure, you can do that.
i had the 54 when i bought the fairlane. i had intended to sell it,,but couldn't bring myself to do it. i had the 54 for 8 years and did a lot of work to it and just couldn't part with it. so,,so far i have them both. my wife is very understanding about my cars. she was the one to suggest looking for another car,,,i always loved the 66-67 fairlane. and this one is very unique. the guy that helped me with the 54,,he was impressed. he's the biggest ford performance guy here in southeast michigan. he has a great collection of classic ford & mercury's. good guy--he's been in the business since he was a kid. he's 62 now. he does a lot of shows for ford motor company.

just wanted to touch base and wish you the best of the christmas season. i check your website occasionally to see what's new. anyway, happy new year, don

Hi Bob,
Just checking on to let you know how much I am enjoying the Impala SS. Sometimes I go out to the barn just to look at it for a while. I feel like I want to work on it but there really is not anything to do to it. A couple of seals to be replaced come springtime but that is about it. Maybe a high performance exhaust. If you have a line on a set of GM hi-po exaust manifolds let me know. Anyway, Im curious to know how the truck is doing as well. Is your father in law having fun with it too?
Good to hear that the old timers are enjoying the truck. It seems like a
perfect fit. Please feel free to use my note as a reference on your website
and also OK to give my number to your exhaust manifold contact. I am trying
to stay away from aftermarket headers though. Want to keep it as close as I
can to GM part numbers. Also reminds me to ask about the status of original
rims we discussed too.

Bob, Thanks for the info on the Model A truck. I'm "shopping" it around for you down here and I'll let you know if anyone is interested. Also, here's your reference.

This spring I had the absolute pleasure of purchasing a car from Bob of Ultra Automotive. The entire experience was great. I live in Florida, the car was in Ohio in a very remote location. One is always skeptical when making a purchase like this. Upon my arrival, Bob was extremely helpful and flexible with his time. He escorted me to the remote location and assisted with my examination of the car, a 1913 Metz. The Metz was exactly as advertised. After purchasing my new "baby," Bob even helped me get it loaded up in the trailer, and made sure I got her home to Florida safely. As classic car purchases go, this was a NO STRESS deal! Plus, I have two more "old car" buddies. You can't beat that!. Andy.
